Electric scooter rider dies in Saskatoon collision

A 25-year-old man is dead after a collision between an electric scooter and a car in Saskatoon on Saturday. A 38-year-old man has been charged.

A man is dead after a collision between an electric scooter and a car in Saskatoon on Saturday.

Officers learned a car was travelling northbound on Warman Road when it collided with the man, and the 38-year-old man who was driving the car was arrested.

Police said he is facing charges relating to fleeing the scene of an accident, impaired driving, and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg of alcohol causing death and was scheduled to appear in front of a Justice of the Peace on Saturday.

Traffic restrictions put in place for northbound lanes on Warman Road between Hazen Street and Assiniboine Drive were lifted around noon on Saturday, but Saskatoon Police’s major crimes section and collision analyst unit as well as the Saskatchewan Coroners Service are continuing to investigate.
