Gyles Brandreth has shared a sweet snap taken on his wedding day in 1973.
The This Morning star, 76, has become known for his appearances on programmes including Countdown, Public Opinion, QI and Celebrity Gogglebox over the years.
Since the 1970s he’s also presented various radio shows and written books for both adults and children.
From 1992 until 1997 he was also a Conservative MP, representing the City of Chester, while he’s also become known for his colourful and humorous jumpers worn throughout his career in the public eye.
But before all that, Gyles was a student at Oxford, where he not only studied Modern History and Modern Languages, but met his future wife, Michele Brown.
Five years later, while he was working in theatre and she as a TV reporter, the couple decided to have a ‘quiet wedding’.

They were married at Marylebone Register Office on June 8, 1973, with actor Simon Cadell, Brandreth’s best friend from school, as a witness.
This week Gyles shared a photograph from that day to mark 51 years since they tied the knot, with the presenter appearing somewhat unrecognisable.
Wearing a pinstripe suit and thick dark tie, Gyles held his arm around the shoulder of his bride and rested his head on Michele, who was wearing a floral denim two-piece jacket and skirt set.

‘” A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature” – Ralph Waldo Emerson,’ he captioned the post.
‘The picture is of me and my wife, Michele, outside Marylebone Register Office in London, on our wedding day: 8 June 1973,’ he added.
His followers sent many messages of support, with one exclaiming what a ‘beautiful couple’ they were.
‘What a lovely photo! You look like the cat that’s got the cream. Happy Anniversary!’ Julia commented on the post.

‘She is extraordinarily beautiful, Gyles. As you are, of course,’ Emma shared.
‘Beautiful picture beautiful couple. Congratulations on your milestone together so lovely to see. Happy anniversary to you both,’ Lesley added.
The couple, who have lived in Barnes in Southwest London since 1986, share three children.
One of them, Aphra, is a former Conservative councillor in Richmond and is currently running for the constituency of Chester South and Eddisbury in the 2024 general election.
