Two men in custody after shots fired in Plateau-Mont-Royal

Montreal police received a report of shots fired at the corner of Henri-Julien and Boucher Sts. at 1:10 a.m. .

Two men in their 20s were in police custody Thursday morning after shots were fired hours earlier at a dwelling in the borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal.

Police received a report of shots fired at the corner of Henri-Julien and Boucher Sts. around 1:10 a.m. .

Police did not find any injured people, but saw two suspects fleeing in a vehicle. After a brief search, the vehicle was located a few streets away.

Montreal police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils said the suspects then tried to flee on foot but were quickly arrested.

The suspects, 20 and 21, are expected to be questioned by investigators Thursday.

An examination of the scene of the shooting yielded bullet impacts on an apartment building and shell casings on the ground.

Police intend to question possible witnesses and examine local surveillance cameras as the investigation continues.
