Kate Beckinsale shared a sweet throwback video that revealed her mother was an incredible contestant on one of the most beloved game shows of the 1980s.
Kate, 50, took to social media to reveal that her mother, Judy Loe, 77, once appeared on the 1980s TV show, Give us a Clue, which aired for 17 seasons between 1979 to 1992.
The Pearl Harbour actress shared a sweet video which showed her mother, in a floral 80s style dress, complete with voluminous hair, smashing it as she participated in a game show.
The caption of the post from the Serendipity actress revealed: ‘Here’s one for UK 80’s folk . My mum nailing 80s fashion without looking like a b***end and also being the world champion at Give us a Clue.’
The star added that she was in studio to watch this event: ‘I was in the audience I think, dealing with puberty and some quite unflattering plastic earrings, knowing I’d be absolutely slaughtered at Xmas charades. ❤️’
Judy looked incredibly like her daughter and also competed incredibly well in the game show as she made her teammates guess the films, Hostile Witness, and The Second Mrs Tanqueray.
Fans were amazed by the star’s similarly to her mother. @lyndalabbett commented on Instagram: ‘Love this memory Kate …. Judy was a classy lady…You have your mums genes for sure ….. so alike.’
Others agreed with Kate that Judy managed to rocks the 1980s style perfectly. @sarahjdutts commented: ‘She looks fab. No puff sleeves or dodgy perm. They should revive give us a clue it was such good fun,’ with @tonysmithsonville commenting: ‘She rocked the 80s fashion. Go Jude go.’
Judy is also an actress and has appeared in a variety of TV shows such as: Holby City, Casualty, and Goodnight and God Bless. She also made a recent brief appearance in Netflix’s Fool Me Once as a ‘glamourous woman’.
After Kate’s father Richard passed in 1979, Judy married TV director Roy Battersby in 1997. Roy sadly passed earlier this year and Kate Beckinsale has publically grieved her stepdad, who had been part of her family for decades.
Kate herself has been dealing with a private medical issues recently and has shared several social media posts of herself in hospital in a private room at the Cedars Sinai medical centre in Los Angeles.
Just this month, the star finally left hospital and hinted at her health condition as she posed in a t-shirt that read: ‘tummy troubles survivor.
