With Quebec in the middle of its construction holiday, major disruptions to Montreal-area roads are few this weekend. Here’s what to look out for.

With Quebec in the middle of its construction holiday, major disruptions to Montreal-area roads are few this weekend. Here’s what to look out for:

Fireworks

The fireworks competition at La Ronde will require closing the Ville-Marie Tunnel eastbound as of the exit for Highway 10, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge completely and local streets around the foot of the bridge from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday. Both lanes on the Victoria Bridge will be open toward the South Shore during this time.

Highway 10

The Bonaventure Expressway is closed westbound between the Champlain Bridge and des Moulins Rd., from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday and from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday. The Nuns’ Island access from the Champlain Bridge westbound will also be closed during this time. Suggested detour is via Atwater Ave., St-Patrick and Wellington Sts., or Route 136.

Réseau Express Métropolitain

Ongoing disruptions

  • Highway 10: The Bonaventure Expressway is closed eastbound at the interchange with Highway 15/20 before the Champlain Bridge until September. Traffic is detoured via Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. Access to Nuns’ Island is maintained during this work. Exit 3 (Carrie-Derick St.) eastbound is closed.
  • Highway 20: In Dorval, the ramp from Sources Blvd. south to Highway 20 east is closed until the end of August, as is the ramp that connects the northbound and southbound lanes on Sources. The pedestrian overpass is closed until the beginning of October.
  • Highway 40: The Île-aux-Tourtes Bridge is down to three lanes — one in each direction, and one lane that switches directions on weekdays. During the weekends, the extra lane is for traffic to Vaudreuil-Dorion.
  • Highway 40: In Baie-D’Urfé and Kirkland, reconstruction work on the eastbound highway between Morgan and St-Charles Blvds. will disrupt traffic with partial closures overnights.
  • Highway 40: Work to replace the concrete slabs on the Metropolitan Expressway continues until fall. This will require complete closures of the highway overnights and service roads on nights and weekends, particularly around the Décarie Interchange.
  • Highway 50: In Mirabel, work to replace lighting systems and asphalt between Route 117 and Louis-Bisson St. requires complete closures overnights of the westbound highway until fall.
  • Route 136: The Guy St. exit eastbound is closed until the fall.
  • Highway 440: In Laval, asphalt work is being done on the eastbound service road between Highway 13 and Industriel Blvd., overnight between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., affecting entrances and exits, until the winter.
  • Highway 520: The highway is closed in both directions at Hickmore St., with traffic detoured via the service roads, until the end of the year.

Montreal streets

  • Rose-de-Lima St. is closed south of St-Antoine St., and traffic coming off the highway is being detoured east on St-Antoine (reversing the normal flow of traffic) to Atwater Ave.
  • De Lorimier Ave. reopens one lane northbound between René-Lévesque Blvd. and de Maisonneuve Blvd. on Friday. Two lanes are available southbound until Aug. 9.
  • Côte-de-Liesse Rd. is down to one lane over Dunkirk Rd. until Aug. 6 for work related to the construction of the Côte-de-Liesse REM station.
