Police arrest 10 in connection with 2023 homicides in Montreal area

One man was killed in Charlemagne, in what police think was mistaken identity, and another, believed to be the target, was shot dead in downtown Montreal weeks later.

Police say they’ve now arrested 10 people in connection with a pair of 2023 homicides, including one killing that investigators believe was a case of mistaken identity.

Six people were arrested in the past 24 hours — five men between 21 and 27 years old and a 27-year-old woman.

Tajudeen was facing charges of armed robbery and theft, and had a criminal record including a gun possession conviction.

Police allege that nine of the 10 people arrested are members of a street gang.
