Ryan Garcia apologizes for threatening ex-wife after concerning confrontation

Ryan Garcia is once again apologizing and pledging to go to rehab after yet another ugly incident earlier this week.

In a series of Instagram stories on Wednesday, Garcia’s ex-partner, Andrea Celina, whom he shares two children with, accused the boxer of harassing them and trashing their home.

Now, Garcia is trying to clean up the mess, posting a long TikTok video in which he apologized to Celina.

Ryan Garcia was expelled by the World Boxing Council last week after he repeatedly used racial slurs against Black people and disparaged Muslims in comments livestreamed on social media. AP

“I woke up the next morning regretting everything I did and everything I said about Andrea,” Garcia said. “I came on here just to say I’m sorry. Andrea, you’re the mother of my children and somebody that I’ll always have love and respect for.

“You grew up [with] me and you’ve seen me at my best and now you’ve seen me at my worst. Andrea and everybody knows that I’ve got a lot of stuff going on right now, but I’ve finally decided to get some help.”

The incident added to what has been a bad week for Garcia.

He was expelled by the WBC just days ago after he said the n-word and invoked the KKK and George Floyd in a viral Instagram space and later claimed he was going to check himself into rehab.

In June, Garcia was suspended for a year after testing positive for PEDs after his fight against Devin Haney.

“I lost everything in the past couple of weeks,” Garcia continued in the TikTok. “My boxing career, just so much other things. I hurt Andrea, I hurt you, I hurt our kids, I hurt everybody around me for my actions.

“I’m sorry because I know our kids are going to watch these when they get older. I’m so sorry. I lost everything. I lost the one thing I ever loved me, who knew me the most. Andrea knows me the most. I’m sorry Andrea, I feel bad.”

As Celina made the charges against Garcia earlier this week, he responded on Instagram, accusing her of being unfaithful and stealing from him, which were claims that he’s now walking back.

“I retract all my statements about her,” Garcia said. “She never stole money from me. She never did wrong by me. She never cheated on me. We weren’t together, so right there, she’s not a cheater. She’s a great woman.

“Saying that, I finally decided to get some help. I’m going to rehab and in the next couple of months, you’re going to see a change. I’ve got to handle some things, but after that, yeah, I’m going to check myself into rehab and get better.”

The couple reportedly started dating in 2019. Garcia filed for divorce in January.
