Knicks’ OG Anunoby exits early with right foot sprain

The Knicks got a scare in the third quarter Saturday night against the Lakers when OG Anunoby went down with an non-contact injury, suffering a right foot sprain.

He went to the floor and was helped up by LeBron James as play was stopped at Madison Square Garden as Anunoby grabbed his leg near his lower calf or Achilles. 

Anunoby then left the court.

He also went back to the locker room in the second quarter before returning prior to the end of the half.

At the time of the injury, Anunoby had a team-high 13 points.

He was replaced by Precious Achiuwa. 

The 27-year-old has dealt with injuries throughout his career, but had appeared in all 48 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 16.4 points and helping make Tom Thibodeau’s defense run.
