2 people killed in Los Angeles County’s Eaton Fire, officials confirm

Two civilians were killed in the Eaton Fire in Los Angeles County, fire officials confirmed.

The cause of the deaths is “unknown at this time,” LA County Fire Chief Anthony C. Marrone told reporters at an update Wednesday morning.

The Eaton Fire exploded to more than 2,000 acres (3.1 square miles) with 0% containment and has destroyed more than 100 structures, Marrone said.

Additional “significant injuries” have been reported in the fire, he said.
