Canada soccer removes coach Bev Priestman after Olympic drone scandal suspension

The other shoe has dropped in the spying scandal that is rocking women’s soccer at the Olympics. 

Canada has removed women’s national team head coach Bev Priestman after two staffers were caught using a drone to spy on the practice of the New Zealand women’s team earlier this week.

The Canadian Olympic Committee made the decision Thursday after Canada Soccer had suspended Priestman. 

Assistant coach Andy Spence will lead the women’s team, which is now the defending gold medal winner, during the Olympics.
