Love Island viewers have been absolutely blown away by Maya Jama’s mum, as they gushed over her ageless appearance.
The ITV host, 29, revealed her mum Sadie was in the audience of Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday night, giving her a little shout-out.
After introducing the other guests, including Love Island stars Molly Marsh and Zachariah Noble, as well as I’m A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson, Maya called out: ‘Oh not only that, my mum is in the audience as well! Hello mum!
‘I nearly forgot about Sadie!’
Viewers were stunned at Sadie’s appearance, with @KellyAllen01 writing on X: ‘Omg #mayajama mum looks amazing. Like so so young. Clearly good genes.’
‘Can I say something about Maya Jama’s mum…’ @MADBLACKLEGEND wrote.
‘Maya Jama’s mum is CHOONG wowwwww,’ @LoccedLover added.
@johnbond75babe also wrote: ‘Obviously the most important person on Aftersun tonight is @MayaJama ‘s mum. This is not a debate, it’s just a fact.’
Maya has previously shared her close relationship with her mum, who is of Swedish descent.
She told the Evening Standard, according to The Mirror: ‘She had me at 18, so our relationship was a bit different. I rebelled less because I was quite free.
‘My mum’s always been like, “I want you to have your experiences — just tell me. I’m not going to judge you or shout at you.”‘
Maya’s mum raised her and her brother Omar without their dad, Hussein, however, the TV star elsewhere spoke about her close bond with her step-father, telling Marie Claire: ‘When I was 10, my mum met my stepfather and he is the loveliest man.
‘So I got to see a loving relationship, which I think is what can affect young women growing up without a dad – not experiencing love first-hand and seeing how a healthy relationship should be. Dad wasn’t around, but I had all the love I needed from elsewhere.’
Maya returned to our screens on Sunday night just days after announcing her split from Stormzy last week.
The former couple had rekindled their romance in 2023, having first dated in 2014, before breaking up five years later.
Despite being spotted packing on the PDA at Glastonbury a few weeks ago, Maya and Stormzy announced they’d ‘called it quits’ after a ‘final attempt’ at their relationship, in a lengthy joint message.
They said: ‘We decided to try for the final time in August 2023, and we’ve spent this past year trying our best to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.’
‘We tried, and it didn’t work, and that’s okay,’ they went on.
They signed off the statement asking ‘for the grace to let both of us keep it moving and not be bothered about it,’ and Maya has since hinted that she wants to keep her privacy.
Summarising her recent life antics, the star took to Instagram with a message for fans hidden in her accessories choice.
In the series of pics, including one taken with Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan at Wimbledon, Maya hid behind a drink with her cap showing: ‘Privacy please.’
She elsewhere shared some behind-the-scenes glam pics, and set pulses racing in a red bikini as she soaked up the sun.
