City police say they charged three men and a woman after shots were allegedly fired from a vehicle in the Forest Grove neighbourhood on Sunday night.
A police media release said they received a report around 11:50 p.m. that a bicycle was stolen from a yard in the 100 block of Hedley Street. A resident told police they chased a woman on the bike to the Spark Avenue and Grant Street area nearby and saw her get into a white BMW.
“One of the occupants of the vehicle then fired three shots out the window as it drove away,” police said, adding that officers searching the area found spent shell casings.
No one was injured.
Patrol officers later saw the BMW at Avenue T and 23rd Street, being driven in a dangerous manner, the release said. The police air support unit assisted until the vehicle stopped in the 1400 block of Wellington Street and four people got out and fled on foot.
They were taken into custody with help from a canine unit and police found a handgun nearby, the release said.
A 38-year-old man is charged with dangerous driving and evading police. A 29-year-old man is charged with possession of a firearm. A 20-year-old woman is charged with possession of cocaine. A 28-year-old man is charged with breach of undertaking.
Police said all four are also charged with firearm offences.
The investigation continues.
