16-year-old seriously injured in attack outside Montreal North high school

Witnesses reported a fight broke out between the victim and his aggressor at the end of classes

A 16-year-old student was brought to a hospital in critical condition after an attack Monday outside Calixa Lavallée High School in Montreal North.

Montreal police responded to several 911 calls reporting an injured individual at 4:20 p.m. They found the victim outside his school near Henri-Bourassa Blvd. E. and Pelletier Ave., conscious but in critical condition. Paramedics attended to him and he was transported to a hospital. Health officials told police Monday evening that the boy’s life was not considered in danger.

Witnesses reported a fight broke out between the victim and his aggressor at the end of classes, and continued outside of the school. The victim was reportedly struck numerous times with a blunt object. The suspect fled and was no arrests were made by early Monday evening. Investigators set up a security perimeter outside the school and were questioning witnesses.
