A toddler has been orphaned after both their parents were killed in a car crash.

Ryan Quinn, 38, and his wife Jenyfer, 35, were the only ones in the Porsche when it smashed into a tree on a country road on the Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire border.

The couple, from Potton, were both pronounced dead at the scene when paramedics arrived.

Anyone with information about the collision on Lower Road in the village of Croydon at around 4.45pm on October 15 has been urged to get in touch with police urgently.

In a tribute, their family said today: ‘Ryan and Jenyfer, originally from Manchester, had lived in Potton for the last four years, where they had formed some great friendships with neighbours and the wider community.

‘Their tragic passing has shocked everyone and we are grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from everyone whose lives they have touched.

‘They are survived by their three-year-old child, who is being supported by friends and family and we would appreciate respect and privacy to allow us to come to terms with this terrible loss.’

Post mortem examinations have been carried out on the couple’s bodies to establish the exact causes of their deaths and a joint inquest was expected to opened and adjourned by the Bedfordshire coroner later.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said: ‘Paramedics and police attended the scene but sadly the couple were both pronounced dead at the scene. They were the only occupants of the vehicle.’

Sergeant Simon Cooper, from the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘We are continuing to ask the public for information about this incident and would urge anyone who hasn’t come forward to get in touch.’

He previously said after the crash: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those who died and everyone else affected by such a tragic incident.

‘This is a rural, secluded location and we would really like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything in this area which can help us shed a light on what has happened.

‘We would be especially keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage which might be able to help our investigation.’
