U.S. accuses Chinese language firm of serving to ZTE disguise enterprise with Iran -Commerce Dept

WASHINGTON — The USA on Tuesday accused Far East Cable, China’s largest wire and cable producer, of violating U.S. export controls associated to shipments to Iran, the Commerce Division mentioned.

“The charging letter alleges that Far East Cable signed contracts with ZTE and Iranian telecommunications firms to ship U.S.-origin tools to Iran as a part of an effort to hide and obfuscate ZTE’s Iranian enterprise from U.S. investigators,” the Bureau of Business and Safety (BIS) mentioned in a press release.
