Marco Arop wins bronze for first profession world championship medal in 800m

Canadian runner Marco Arop earned his first world championship medal with a bronze within the males’s 800-metre last on Saturday on the world observe and discipline championships.

The Edmonton native completed with a time of 1 minute 44.28 seconds.

Kenya’s Emmanuel Korir gained gold with a season-best efficiency of 1:43.71. Algerian Djamel Sedjati grabbed silver crossing the road in 1:44.14.

The 23-year-old Arop is simply the second Canadian man to ever medal within the race at worlds. Gary Reed gained silver in 2007 in Osaka, Japan.

Arop ran the third-fastest time on this planet this season three weeks in the past on the Pre World Invitational Championships.
